The bellringing team from St Mary’s Church, Kidderminster went on a tour on June 25th 2016. They visited
six churches in all, in the morning, Malvern Priory, Colwall and Bosbury and in the afternoon Eastnor, Earls
Croome and Kempsey. This is late morning at Bosbury Tower and they are ringing Cambridge Surprise Minor. The
tower captain of St. Mary’s bellringers is David W Struckett. You may not know this - Surprise
is a class that means that it is a treble-dodging method (i.e. has a treble-bob hunt bell) and has an internal
place made at every cross-section (when the treble moves up or down from one dodge to the next). Major is
rung on eight bells, Minor on 6 bells as at Bosbury - so there you have it.
