Rubik’s Cube was invented in 1974 by a Hungarian sculptor
and former professor of Architecture at the Budapest College of
Applied Arts. His name was Ernő Rubik and the puzzle was called
‘Bűvös Kocka’, the ‘Magic Cube’
It has become the world’s best-selling puzzle. There is now a
World Cube Association based in Los Angeles which organises national,
continental amd global chapioships. The WCA It uses a computer-generated
algorithm program called TNoodle-WCA-1.2.2 to scramble the cube
for competition puzzles.
This particular rendering of the puzzle for solving on the computer was
crafted by Boris Sekovac in 2019. He used 3D Javascript library, Three.js.
Mine is a simplified version — the original version is published on Codepen.
