In 2017 a neuroscientist at the University of Alberta in Canada, Kyle Elliott Mathewson, devised an experiment using a modified ‘Duck and Rabbit’ puzzle. Most of the participants saw either two ducks or two rabbits but found it difficult to see one duck and one rabbit. He had one phrase that worked well overcoming this difficulty.
So when you look at the picture is your first impression two rabbits or two ducks? Now look more carefully and tell your eyes there is one duck and one rabbit. Is this difficult? Now say to yourself the picture is ‘a duck eating a rabbit’. An unlikely idea I know but you should find you see the two animals facing one another.
